DSEC’s Update Concerning COVID-19
Dear family of God,
We are living in unprecedented times. While it is easy to panic and fall into a spirit of fear, I hope and pray that we walk in a spirit of faith and peace, trusting firmly in God that is with us. At the same time, we want to discern what is the most loving and wise thing to do in the midst of this pandemic.
We are closely monitoring the latest COVID-19 updates and paying attention to the orders of our local authorities. We want to respect and obey the governing authorities (Romans 13:1), and also care for the well-being of our city and region (Jeremiah 29:7), as well as our own DS family, especially as we have a large number of elderly members.
Therefore, the following is what the Steering Committee has decided for our EC:
1. We are cancelling/postponing all physical gatherings until the end of March.
2. Corporate Gatherings
Sunday worship and SELAH (Wednesday night prayer meeting) will be live-streamed.
Therefore, we encourage you to join our corporate gatherings via live-stream. You can access all our online content and live-streams through subscribing to our youtube channel and/or email newsletter.

Sundays at 9:30am and Wednesdays at 7:30pm.
We might be at different locations physically, but let’s worship God all at the same time, live, as one family. May the lack of physical gathering not become a temptation to slack off spiritually. This is a time we should be praying and encouraging one another all the more. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
We will also have a time of offering as usual during our Sunday service. Please use the following link to give through PayPal: https://www.paypal.me/dongshinec
3. Life Groups
We encourage our groups not to gather physically until the virus dies down. However, regular fellowship, accountability, sharing, learning, and prayer must continue. Therefore, we want to encourage life groups to still happen through a group video conference (such as Zoom, Skype, Google Hangouts, etc.) to be able to grow together.
If you'd like to join a Life Group, please send us an email: email@example.com
4. Additional Announcements
OASIS (originally planned to be on 4/5) and Discipleship Course 101 (originally planned to start on 3/21) will be postponed indefinitely.
PD’s mission trip to India in April has been cancelled.
5. Spiritual Response
Below is part of an excellent response from Grace Church that we’d like to share with our congregation.
This is a good reminder to all of us that we live in an uncertain world and our confidence and trust is only found in the sovereignty of God. God reigns over every molecule and cell in your body and has predetermined that which is good for you within His providential will (Romans 8:28–32). This is an opportunity to encourage and strengthen the people of God and an opening for the gospel in our community. For those of you who may be anxious, remember the words of Isaiah to trust in the Lord: “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in you” (Isaiah 26:3).
The pastors and leaders of DSEC are standing with you during this time.
We are available and praying for you.
